The family of Darryl Berdan is saddened to announce his unfortunate and unexpected passing at 58 years of age.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 26th at 10:30 AM at Bracebridge Municipal Cemetery, 19 Lilac Lane, Bracebridge.
He will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by the love of his life and wife of 17 years, Dana, as well as his sons Kenny, Kyle, Kody, Deven (Mary), daughter Chloe (James), son Keefer (Becca), his granddaughter Lily, his mother Millie as well as numerous family and friends.
Darryl was born in Bracebridge, Ontario, and raised in the greater Barrie area. Graduating from school in Alliston, he started on his own path soon afterwards, launching a lifelong career as a skilled and successful Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinist. He took great pride in his work and abilities, becoming well known, liked and highly respected within the industry.
Throughout his life, Darryl was known by his well-earned nickname “Happy”, though his true happiness began when he met his best friend and future wife in 2005. They were married the following year, and over the past 17 years they built a special life together with their children and many loving fur babies. Taking time to enjoy the little things in life, Darryl was always in his element. He could always be found spending his time surrounding himself with family, whether it was cheering on his wife riding their horses, sitting down for every Leafs game after going down to play pond hockey himself, or just strolling around the neighbourhood walking his beloved dogs, always trying to improve the day of everybody he passed by.
Anybody that met him couldn’t help but feel the contagious positivity he radiated, being constantly upbeat and smiling, often singing at the top of his lungs first thing in the morning and taking any chance to put on a performance in the car too. Everyone that knew him felt his selfless generosity, he was a man who never put himself before others, and would do anything for his friends and family. It was hard to find a person who was so naturally loving and caring; Darryl loved life and brought an incredible amount of joy into the lives of all that met him. He lived his life for his family, and had great pride in that; he was a wonderful role model, a great man, and the best husband, son and father he could be.
At the request of the family in lieu of flowers, any considered donations may be directed towards the Terry Fox Foundation, https://give.terryfox.ca/3733/donate which Darryl held close to his heart.
