Alfred George

GEORGE, Alfred Miller (Mike) It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mike George on October 30th, 2013. Born in Winnipeg on July 6th, 1922 and raised in Port Hope, Ontario. He is the only son of J.T. & Bessie George (late of Port Hope, ON). Mike shared a full life between Toronto, Muskoka and Clearwater, Florida with his family/friends. Beloved husband to Betty George of Bracebridge, Ontario for 57 years. Father to Paul (Janet), Brian and Elizabeth Pritchard. Grandfather to Nicole, Danielle, Ali, Logan, Hunter, Madison & Baylie. Mike graduated from the University of Toronto (Phi Gamma Delta), retired Flight Lieutenant RCAF, retired from property management of Gulf Oil, Petro Canada & Mac's Milk. A true lover of family and friends, golf (on par with his age), photography, nature, and proudly a 'snowbird' extraordinaire. He will be missed. Friends will be received at the Reynolds Funeral Home 'Turner Chapel', in Bracebridge, Ontario on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Bracebridge, Ontario on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Port Hope Cemetery at a later date. Expressions of sympathy are preferably made through memorial donations to The Canadian Cancer Society or St. Thomas Anglican Church Building Fund.
