Alice Morrow

Alice Georgina (Jean) Morrow passed away peacefully with her son and granddaughter by her side, at The Pines Nursing Home, in Bracebridge, Sunday November 20th, 2016. Jean was born in Novar, ON on October 15th, 1931 to Adam and Blanche Coulter, who married and raised 8 children in that small village, and though, throughout her life she lived in many places, she was always a Muskoka girl to her core. Of the many places she worked, the many careers she had, the most important thing to her was family. That includes family that was born to her, and the many friends that became family. Her heart encompassed everyone. She loved flowers and nature, always watching for any wildlife in their yards. She loved playing cards and hiking, walking or cross country skiing in the great outdoors. She loved life, and wasn't afraid to show it, whether through singing, dancing or through her contagious laughter. When she smiled, everyone always knew it was genuine - her whole face lit up, and her blue eyes sparkled with mischief. She was funny and knew how to tell a joke, even if it was only her that laughed at the punchline. She didn't care, and could laugh easily at herself. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and beloved, loyal friend. She was stubborn and strong-willed, while remaining soft and comforting, and she was always a champion for those less fortunate. She lived a beautiful, gracious, full life, and she will be dearly missed by us all. "Energy is only borrowed - eventually we have to give it back." And Jean was full of energy. Predeceased by her loving husband, Norman Morrow; her parents, Adam and Blanche (Watt) Coulter; her brother Harvey Coulter; and her sister and niece Madelene and Linda. She is survived by her son, Bill (Bonnie) Terry; her granddaughters Marie (Matthew) Colwell, Jessica (Marc) Terry, and Shannon Terry; her great grandchildren Adam, Addison, and Steven, and Sarah and Brandon; her brothers Cal (Donna) Coulter, Joe (Isabel) Coulter, and Ersten (Vivian) Coulter; her sisters Doris Cook, and June (Orland) Crooks; multiple nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will held at Reynolds Funeral Home on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society.
