Allan McCelland McDonald

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Allan McDonald, who passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia on September 8th. He was 84 years old.

Allan was a man of many talents, but his greatest passion was found in building and woodworking. Whether crafting beautiful furniture or repairing things around the cottage, his hands always created something special. His meticulous craftsmanship and eye for detail were matched only by the love and care he put into everything he made.

He was a loving husband to June McDonald, a devoted father to Chris (Tara) and Alex (Sarah) McDonald, and a cherished grandfather to Duncan, Owen, Casey, and Maggie. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, warm smile, and how he found joy in the simple things in life.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on September 28th at Blessed Kateri Catholic Church in Bayville, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Family and friends are invited to join in honouring his memory over lunch at the Bayville Curling Club afterward.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka in his memory, supporting research into dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Allan will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the memories and love he leaves behind.
