Bracebridge

It is with great sadness that we announce Barb Bryant passed away peacefully in her 75th year at The Pines on June 17,2022.  Barb had a rare neurological disease which she fought for four years with the support of her devoted husband by her side every single day.

Loving wife of Jim of 53 years; loving mother of Wendy, Tracey Girma (Wube), John (Kimberly); Proud grandmother of Eliana.  Predeceased by her parents Evelyn & Jack Ross of Hamilton.  Sister of Jack, Cathy, Janet (predeceased) and Fran; sister-in-law of Betty ( nee Mattiussi) Ted & Will. Dear Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Barb was a dedicated teacher whose career spanned over 30 years beginning in Hamilton and included work in Longlac, Geraldton, Cambridge & finally her forever home here in Muskoka.  Teaching was not just a job for Barb, but her life’s passion, inspiring generations of young minds to learn and discover a love of reading.  She welcomed children not only into her classroom but also into her heart. Barb, enjoyed traveling to many far off places throughout her life but home was where her heart was and her biggest adventures were found in the pages of a good book. She shared her joy & laughter amongst family & friends. She also was a member of many clubs throughout her life including a local book club, quilting guild, card group and an active member in the Bracebridge United Church for 45 years.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate Barb’s life will be held at Bracebridge United Church, 46 Dominion Street, Bracebridge on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 10 AM with Rev. Kathleen Taylor officiating. A reception to share memories and stories will be held immediately following the service at Reynolds Funeral Home, 1 Mary Street, Bracebridge.

Jim and family wish to extend our heart felt thanks to each and every one of Barb’s caregivers at The Pines.  Their professional skills, love and kindness not only brought comfort to Barb but also much laughter.  They truly are special angels on Earth. Memorial donations would be appreciated by the family to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and may be made through Reynolds Funeral Home. Above all else, family was most important to Barb and with her passing, she leaves a behind a lifetime of light in our hearts, cherished memories and so much love & laughter.  She will remain within our hearts and thoughts each and every day and lives on within each person whose lives she touched forever.
