BARBARA MARY ANN HAMMELL
May 23, 1939-April 7, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara Mary Ann Hammell on Monday, April 7, 2025, at The Pines Long Term Care Home in Bracebridge, Ontario at the age of 85.
Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She always had a deep heartfelt concern and worry for everyone in her life. She would always quietly talk about how proud she was to be a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Barbara had been a loyal life member of St. George’s Falkenburg Church and Women’s Institute until its closing.
Barbara worked for many years at J.C. McKenzie Accounting - it was a big part of her life.
Santa’s Village was a great retirement job after giving up her full-time job. Also need to mention Thomas’ Restaurant waitress days as a teen and her lifelong friend Pat Clark (Popejoy).
Barbara was predeceased by her husband Glen Hammell. She leaves behind her much-loved children and spouses: Mark Hammell (Karen), Roger Hammell (Barb) and Lisa Boyes (Clarence). Her cherished grandchildren: Kayla McTaggart (Matt), Dr. Jennifer Hammell (Jake Harris), Britney Hammell (Cole), Melissa Antolick (Adam), Olivia Pryce (Jon), Samantha Boyes (Ryan). And little darling great grandchildren: Avery and Wyatt McTaggart, Everett and Harper Antolick.
Barbara was the eldest of 10 children from the family of Mary and Clarence Moore: Barbara Hammell (Glen-Predeceased), Bernie Moore (Peggy), Cynthia Moore - Predeceased (Alan Pearson), George Moore - Predeceased (Sandra), Suzanne Hodgkinson (Ken - Predeceased), David Moore (Cathy), Peggy Bintakies - Predeceased (Helmut), Paul Moore (Karen-Predeceased), Janice Moore, and Terry Moore (Lyn).
Visitation will be held at the Reynolds Funeral Home, 1 Mary Street, Bracebridge on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Funeral Service will take place at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, 4 Mary Street, Bracebridge, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11am.
