Barbara Joan Mortensen

Passed away suddenly but peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the age of 91.

Loving wife of Ove Mortensen for 68 years, and mother of Mia Morris (Ron, d. 2010), Robert, and Kevin (Kathleen). Proud grandmother of Erik Morris and Lindsay Morris and sister-in-law to Mia Wear (Frank) and Egil (Lis). Predeceased by her parents, Edythe Elizabeth "Betty" Fenwick and Charles Herbert "Herb" Hall.

Barbara was an intelligent, educated woman of many interests. She had a long career teaching grade school at Branksome Hall and through the Toronto District School Board. She sang with barbershop chorus groups in Toronto and Muskoka for many years and supported community organizations that she cared about. She was always active, enjoying daily walks into her nineties, and having shared her love of swimming, paddling, camping, and travelling with her family and close friends.

Barb and Ove had many friends and loved to entertain at their home and their cottage on Long's Lake in Utterson which was Barb's happy place. With Barb around, the room was always full of music and song. She will live on in her family's hearts and in every moment a familiar word or phrase makes them burst into song - just like she did.

A private family ceremony will take place at a later date.
