Beulah Blanche Smart (nee Brown)

Nov. 9, 1928 – Sept.16, 2024

Beulah Blanche Smart, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024 at her home for the last six and a half years, The Pines in Bracebridge. Beloved wife of the late Chesley John Smart. Beulah was the loving mother to her three children, Debra (Bill) Roberts, Jeffrey (Marsha) Smart and Steven (Sharon) Smart. She was the devoted grandmother of six, Jeffrey (Shannon) Roberts; Heather Blackburn; Nathaniel (Amanda) Smart; Kevin (Samantha) Smart; Michelle Smart (Brandon) and Annalise Smart. She was also the cherished great grandmother to Brayden and Brooke Roberts; Barrett and Carson Blackburn; and Lillian Smart.

Beulah loved to knit and bake always making sure her family were well fed with her special treats, especially raisin tea biscuits, date bar, Mrs. Field’s cookies, butter tarts, Grandma’s thunder cake and her special Newfie Christmas cake and shortbreads during the holidays. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life . 

Beulah’s gentle spirit, nurturing nature, smile and unwavering dedication to her family will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. 

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at The Pines along with Drs. Phillips and Jones for the superior and wonderful care Beulah received during her stay. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Pines Support Committee to honour Beulah’s life and legacy.
