EDWARDS, Beverley "Bev" Wakeman (Retired from CFRB, Toronto) Passed away suddenly at his home on Skeleton Lake, following a brief illness, in his 87th year. Devoted husband to Bernice Edwards (nee Goltz) for 62 years. Loving father of Douglas Edwards (Heather) of Muskoka, Murray Edwards (Leona) of Calgary and Gail Pillsworth (Dan) of Bolton. Grandpa of Devon, Sarah, Fraser, Sarah, Lucas, Shannon, Steven & David and great grandpa of six. Predeceased by his brother Stanton and his parents Sydney and Sara Edwards (nee Bunn). Although raised in Muskoka, Bev spent his working life raising his family in Agincourt. Bev may well be remembered for producing the "Wally Crouter Show" at CFRB, where he worked for 38 years. After retirement, he and Bernice moved back to Muskoka, to their home on Skeleton Lake, where they had cottaged, for many years. Bev was a member of York Masonic Lodge No. 156 A.F. & A.M. for more than 56 years. He was also a longtime member of Muskoka Lodge No. 360 A.F. & A.M. in Bracebridge. An avid golfer and curler, Bev made many lasting friendships through his membership at the South Muskoka Curling & Golf Club. According to Bev's wishes cremation has taken place and the family will celebrate his life at a Memorial Graveside Service in the Spring, at the St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery in Ullswater on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations made to the St. Thomas Anglican Church - Ullswater/Bent River or to the charity of your choice.
