Blair Mclaren

Blair McLaren of Bracebridge passed away at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the age of 59. Blair courageously battled cancer for only three months but did so with tremendous strength and grace which gave him precious time to continue his legacy of being the wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend that we were lucky to love for so long. We are so thankful for all the years we had together. Every day was a blessing. He will be so missed by his beloved wife Debbie, his two beautiful daughters, Lisa (Brian Bourque) and Sarah (Boyd Cowan), Blair's parents John and Marney McLaren, his brothers Scott (Donna) and Drew (Sheila). He was a dear son in law to Josephine Thomas and brother in law to Jennifer Stilson (Jamie Bionda) and Mike Thomas. Blair was a caring uncle to Julie, Laura, Kelly, Kat, John, Jake, Hugh, Lynsey, Natalie, Matthew, Kyle, Mackenzie, Zack, Morgan, Caitlin and Hannah and great uncle to Domenick and Addy. He cherished and was adored by and will be forever missed by his sweet little grandbabies, Kennedy, Maddy, Emma and Chelsey. Blair also leaves behind, his extended family at McLaren Press Graphics Limited, the business, staff and colleagues that he was so proud of for over 26 years. His presence brightened everyone's lives and every room he entered. He was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Friends are invited to share their memories of Blair with his family at the Reynolds Funeral Home "Turner Chapel", 1 Mary St., Bracebridge, ON on Thursday, March 24 from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, March 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers and Rosary will be said following the Friday evening visitation at 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 118 McMurray St., Bracebridge on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11 a.m.. The family invites you to join them for a celebration of Blair's life at The Inn at the Falls, 1 Dominion St., Bracebridge following the funeral mass. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Sick Kids Foundation, 14th Floor, 525 University Ave., Toronto, On M5G 2L3 in honour of Blair.
