WORTH, Thomas BURT Burt passed away peacefully at his home in Bracebridge, on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at age 84. Beloved husband of Donna. Loving father of Kathy and Nancy. Proud grandfather of Jessie, Ellen & Caroline. Dear brother of Josephine "Jo". Niece Denise, Nephew Chip. He enjoyed his peace and quiet in Bala at his summer cottage from birth, until his retirement to Bracebridge. A dedicated volunteer for over 55 years with Canadian Power & Sails Squadrons; co-founder of The Bala Sailing Club; a past member of the Bracebridge Agricultural Society, Probus, NAUI Scuba Instructor. He loved nature and everything it had to offer. As your expression of sympathy, memorial donations made to the OSPCA - Muskoka Branch, the RVH Cancer Centre or Canadian Power Squadron Foundation would be appreciated. Messages of condolence with memories can be made at www.reynoldsfuneral.com Burt was always behind the camera but we have found a few photos to celebrate his many loves: Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons - Burt was recently presented with his 55 year Merit Mark celebrating his many years of safe boating instruction. He was involved in many Squadrons, local (Gravenhurst), District (Georgian/Trent) and National Training Officer (Canada). One of the founders of the Bala Sailing Club serving as Race Captain for many years, sharing his practical knowledge of sailing & racing rules. He had a keen eye for finding the right subject in photography garnering many awards at the Bala Cranberry Festival, Bracebridge Fall Fair, provincial Agricultural and Power Squadrons competitions. Sharing the joy of Bala waters with his Toronto scuba students. Always found outside enjoying his green thumb in the vegetable garden or woodworking until the bugs drove him in to a good book.
