SCHENK, Carl Franklin (November 26, 1933 - October 13, 2017) Carl Franklin Schenk passed away Friday, October 13, 2017, at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital at age 83. Beloved husband to Nancy Knox and of the late Patricia Schenk. Carl is the dear father of Kimberley Schenk (Scot Horrobin), Leslie Schenk and the late Gregory Schenk. He is the proud grandfather of Karla Kennedy (Zach), Seana Horrobin, the late Natalie Horrobin, Jennifer Sproule (Jason), and Erin Roberts. He is also the proud great grandfather of Logan & Alice Sproule. Carl is survived by siblings Bill, Marjorie, Don, Ken & Eleanor and predeceased by siblings Marion, Bertha, Harold & Jim. Carl will also be dearly remembered by many extended family in the Schenk, Carney & Knox families. Carl was a constant advocate for the out-of-doors and was happiest with a paddle in his hand, hiking a trail or casting a hand-tied fly. His commitment to his family, the environment and his faith shaped his life. He was loved and admired by many. Visitation will be held at Bracebridge United Church, on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Bracebridge United Church. Private interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to support the Bracebridge United Church, the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation or Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
