Carmela Chiapponi

Carmela (Carm) Chiapponi (née Villari) passed away suddenly at home on February 9, 2025, at the age of 63. Carm was born on January 18, 1962, in Roccalumera, Sicily, before moving to Ontario with her family. Carm is survived by the love of her life, Reno Chiapponi, whom she married on May 11, 1985. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two children, Kristina Chiapponi-Gordon (Carey) and Agostino Chiapponi. Carm’s greatest joy came from her three cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Keegan, and Charlotte, whom she adored beyond measure. She will be deeply missed by her brother Sam Villari, as well as her extensive extended family and many dear friends. Carm is predeceased by her beloved parents, Concetta Villari (Cera) and Filipo Villari, whose love and guidance shaped the incredible person she became. Carm had a gift for making every conversation a meaningful connection, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was the heart of every gathering, welcoming everyone with open arms, a warm smile, and a plate of something delicious. To so many, she was "Everybody’s Nonna"—a source of comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love. She found immense joy from helping others and in her work; and a deep peace with her family, where she felt most at home. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched. 

A celebration of Carm’s life will be held on February 28th from 1:30pm to 6:00pm at Tottenham Legion 25 Richmond St E, Tottenham, ON.
