Carmen Dempsey

June 25, 1988 — December 6, 2016

Pearcey, Carmen Elizabeth Carmen Elizabeth (Dempsey) Pearcey, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side, on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the age of 28 years. Beloved wife of Matthew Pearcey. Loving daughter of Randy and Jean Dempsey. Dear sister of Graeme (Natalie). Daughter in law of Ken and Peggy Pearcey. Sister in law of Becky Pearcey (Steve) and Josh Pearcey (Emily). Aunt of Jade and Megan. Cherished granddaughter of Freida Fisher and the late Ted; Mary and Lionel Dempsey; Bert and Leona Riley; Margaret Pearcey and the late Jack. Carmen had many passions but the love she had for children outshone them all. She had always wanted to work with them somehow. She also loved music and singing and had such a beautiful voice. Swimming was her favourite activity besides long walks through the woods or drives down country roads. Everyone knew Carmen for her knitting which started as a hobby but blossomed into a small business, especially making knitted baby attire for photographers to use as props. Her work was so delicate and precise and we've seen many babies modelling her creations. She has also donated many hats to our Obstetrics Ward at SMMH. Carmen also had such a way with words. She always knew how to help you feel better just by writing out a card or note. She was compassionate and caring in her choice of words. Her heart and soul belonged to her husband and best friend, Matt. He brought such joy to her and truly was her "knight in shining armour". The love they shared was an inspiration to us all. With a heart of gold and her soul set free, her journey has taken a new turn, but her spirit lives on with us forever. At Carmen's request cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Patterson Kaye Lodge, Sunday Dec. 18th, from 1-4 p.m. A service will commence at 1 p.m. As your expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Children's Foundation of Muskoka or the SMMH Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the Reynolds Funeral Home "Turner Chapel" in Bracebridge. Messages of condolence can be made at www.reynoldsfuneral.com
