Cecilia Dittrick

Cecilia Irene Dittrick passed away peacefully at the Pines on January 31st at 12:26pm with her daughter Blanche at her side. Born September 28th 1917 in Cornwall to Hortence and Francis Aquin. She was the fourth child of six. Mel, Muriel, Marie, Cecil and Claude. Loving wife of 30 years to Phillip Dittrick. Mother of Blanche, Bob and Gary. Grandmother to Tawnya, Sean, Beckie, Michelle, Lizzie, Robbie, Kelly, Amanda, Chrissy, Katie and Sean. Great Grandmother to many loved great grandchildren. Cecilia was known for her lively sense of humour and funny "one liners". Although she was faced with harsh circumstances through out her life, she remained optimistic and trusting of everyone she met, as she chose to see only the goodness in those around her. She was an avid volunteer at the CNIB and square dancer for over 30 years. Cecilia will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. A family service will be held in Toronto at a later date. Special thanks to everyone at the Pines. Over the past 15 years that Cecilia was a resident she was treated like a part of their family. The employees are absolutely fantastic and treat each resident with respect, kindness and dignity. During her passing process they not only treated Cecilia exceptionally well but also every family member and friend who visited. They even provided us with refreshments and continuous support. When family members poured in from out of town, they were welcomed with open arms and told "this is your Grandmas home, you are always welcome here".
