Cynthia Atkins

Cynthia Joy Atkins passed peacefully at her home in Bracebridge with her family at her side on Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 at the age of 59 years. Beloved wife of John Atkins. Loving mother of Kyle (Christina) and Brooke (Matthew Pape). Cherished grandmother of Avery and Hayes. Dear sister of Christine Ellstrom (Steve). For those lucky enough to have known Cyndy, you knew she was the life of the party. You couldn't help but have a great time when you were with her. She had a contagious laugh and an infectious smile that one would instinctually return. She spent over 37 years keeping the love of her life, John, on his toes; 20 of which she cherished at home raising her children before she found her true passion in painting. She had many talents over the years which ranged from photography and piano to gardening and stained glass but no matter what she did she did it whole heartedly. Her heart and soul however were truly all about the cottage. She shared memories here with her own family as a child and participated in building it alongside her sister, late mother and father. She raised her own children here during the summer months. She shared her oasis and created memories with everyone close to her here. Sitting by the lake and watching the sunset with a cold one in hand was where she felt most at home and where she will, peacefully, always rest. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the friends, family and homecare personnel that have shown incredible support during this journey. Special thanks to Vivien, Laura, Ronnie, Dr. Martin, Louise and Cathy. Please join us to celebrate Cyndy's life, in true fashion, by the lake at the Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Center in Gravenhurst Ontario on Saturday November 5th from 1pm to 4pm.
