Hare, David (Dave) Gordon July 30th, 1952 till August 8th, 2016, 64 years young A True Gentleman Selfless, Neighborly, Compassionate, Dependable, a Total romantic and an Exceptionally Loyal Friend David Gordon Hare was born in Oshawa, Ontario at a whopping 3 lbs. He was the eldest of three children born to Mary Patricia Hare (nee McLaughlin) and Dr. Gordon Edgar Hare, both predeceased. Dave is survived by his younger siblings Brian and Susan, his niece Alexandria, his two nephews Tim and Rob and great niece Brooklynn. Also survived by his Uncle Dick and Aunt Patsy McLaughlin and their children Peter, Wendy, Rosemary, Paul and John. His Aunt Betty Newick and Dave's cousins Paul, John and Peter. Over the years Dave worked at the LCBO in Oshawa, had his own gourmet food business in Oshawa and when he moved to Port Carling he became your super friendly Mailman. All these career paths had one thing in common, David loved people and he loved helping them. David enjoyed history especially the McLaughlin family history of which he was extremely proud, antique boats, the Muskoka's, entertaining and fine food. Dave was always welcoming to all and was known for his heart of gold. He was known to his friends as "Lil Buddy". His adoration, care and concern for his cats Blue, Buddy and Nancy's dog Peanut was legendary. He had a fantastic relationship with his long term tenants Sherry, Mark and Shelley. He will be fondly remembered and honored by his companion Nancy L. Head, her children, her extended family and many, many friends and neighbors. Donations to the Poppy Fund at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 529 would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
