MYERS, Douglas Michael Deeply missed is Douglas Myers of Port Carling who passed away January 26, 2012 at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge in his 80th year. Friends will be received at Reynolds Funeral Home ‘Turner Chapel', 1 Mary St., Bracebridge, ON, on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 4-7p.m. Funeral Mass will be said at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bracebridge, on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Victoria Road, ON, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at Kirkfield Lion's Club. Messages of condolence to the family can be made at www.reynoldsfuneral.com Douglas was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Bernadette (Burke) Myers in February 2009. He was a proud and loving father of six children; Andrew Myers, Kelly Jarvis (Randy), Catherine Cote (Richard), Christine Simson (Reginald), Maureen Hines (Brent), and Monica Mayer (Jeff). He was a grandfather of fifteen; Kylie Myers, Andrew , Nicole and Eric Jarvis, Luke, Elizabeth and Megan Cote, Frank, Derek, and Jared Simson, Aidan and Emma Hines, and Zachary, Kayla, and Alyssa Mayer. Douglas was born November 12, 1932 to Andrew and Florence Myers and grew up in Victoria Road. He was one of 3 children, and is survived by his brother Jim and his wife Joanne and predeceased by his sister Roberta Myers. Douglas' life was all about family, He loved his children and grandchildren. They each hold a special piece of their hearts for "grandpa". He loved a good game of crib, going for drives, and enjoyed the beautiful view of Indian River from his home. He had a voracious appetite for sweets! Our dad (affectionately known to us as "papsy"), father-in-law & grandfather . You will be deeply missed forever, but never forgotten. We love you with all of our hearts!
