SPECHT, Douglas James - died suddenly at his home in London on Sunday March 7, 2010. Born on April 17, 1946 to the late Louis Herman Specht and the late Jean Anne Specht (nee MacAskill), Doug celebrated and loved daughters Carrie (Mike) of Camp Borden, Devon of Calgary and Amanda (Mitch) of Bala. He cherished sisters Robyn (Robin, and Mikayla) of Bracebridge and Debbie (Bill) of Sointula BC. He mourned brother Rick. Doug shared adventures and love with wife Margo, caring for his step son Jason (Angie) and his step-daughter (in-law) Ginger (Gord). He chauffeured, made sandwiches for, fed sushi to, chased, played hockey with and/or taught sailing to Dezmond, Liam, Jory, Kenni, Shine, Colton and Madison. He loved his motorcycle, his sailboat and his gas range (having become a divine cook). He told and wrote wonderful stories. His first novel is with his publisher. Visitation will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home ‘Turner Chapel', in Bracebridge on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. We will celebrate Doug at the Bracebridge United Church on Saturday March 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in Doug's memory.
