Dwight Kelneck

June 9, 1943 — April 25, 2017

Dwight Mauno Joseph Kelneck Dwight Mauno Joseph Kelneck - "Ike" was born on June 9, 1943 in Montreal Quebec, and died peacefully and unexpectedly on April 25, 2017 at his happy place, his Baysville country home which he proudly built in partnership with his dear wife Alice. Ike was a devoted husband (Alice), father (Casey and Grady), brother (Craig and Karen), and a loyal friend. Core to Ike's life philosophy was "Positude" (positive + attitude), a term he coined. He was known as both a music man, like his father Henry, and a man of the bush - a true conservationist and taught everyone to love and respect Mother Nature, or "MoNa" as he referred to her. Passionate about his family and friends, he connected with them through this love of nature and music. All his life, Ike celebrated his Finnish and Polish heritage and embraced a welcoming approach to people all over the world. A long-time Rotarian and Muskoka realtor, Ike was always there to lend an ear (or a tune), or share his vast knowledge and wisdom - from hunter safety to current events and many, many other issues. Most recently, he enjoyed winter months at his Florida condo, sharing his many gifts with great friends there, too. Ike lived a truly full life, having travelled and played music all over Canada with Alice and lifelong friends for political campaigns, in night clubs, at his Muskoka Jam, for gatherings of friends, for seniors, for children - just about everywhere. This vibrant and unconventional man was at home in a crowd entertaining hundreds or by himself contemplating the world, something he loved to do at his cabin in the bush. Ike will always be remembered lovingly by his family and friends, and we will keep his spirit alive by continuing to benefit from the vast knowledge he bestowed on us, and by watching screenings of his considerable slide collection, and of course, by listening to his wonderful music. We will miss this amazing man forever.
