Edith Foreman

Edith Erika Herta Foreman passed away peacefully at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at age 85. Edith is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, George A. Foreman of Bracebridge. Loving mother of Irvine Brings of Barrie and the late John Brings, formerly of Vancouver, B.C. Proud grandmother of Wendy Marr of Barrie and Richard Brings of Gaspe, Quebec. Great grandmother of Julia & Brandon Marr and Hope & Rea Brings. Edith was born in Germany and came to Canada in 1955, with both her sons, at which time she taught herself English. Her first marriage was to Anton Johann Max Brings in Germany, living in California and Toronto until 1967, when he passed away as a result of health conditions stemming from World War II. Edith worked for the Minister of Highways and Columbia Records. She married George A. Foreman in 1974, living in Thornhill, then moving to Bracebridge in 1987 after their retirement. While in Thornhill, Edith became very active in the Office Furniture Manufacturing business. She was active in the Markham Board of Trade, as well as North York Woman's Organization. Edith loved people and friends. Being with them was the high of each day or visit. She will be missed by those that new her and associated with her. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at the New Apostolic Church in Orillia, 56 Wyandotte St. Orillia, ON, on Sunday, November 27, 2011 following the usual Sunday Service, which begins at 10:30 a.m. The funeral should begin at about 11:45 a.m. If desired, memorial gifts to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation, (75 Ann St., Bracebridge, ON, P1L 2E4) or the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka, (230 Manitoba St., Unit 205, Bracebridge, ON, P1L 2E1) would be appreciated.
