Edward Devenish

Devenish, Edward John "Ted" Died peacefully, at Castle Peak Retirement Residence, Bracebridge, Ontario, on the morning of June 5, 2014, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Reta. Loving father of David (Linda) of Burlington, Diane (Nick) of Bracebridge, Shane (Dawna) of Burlington and Lisa (David) of Toronto. Proud ‘Gramps' of Erica (Rob), Danielle (Roger), Lauren, Jake, Rachel (Cody), Tara, Amy, David & Andrew. Brother of the late Melvin and Doreen. Ted will be fondly remembered as a profound lover of golf having worked professionally in the golf business for over 25 years. His family joined Ted and wholeheartedly embraced the love of the game which we will each affectionately carry for the rest of our lives. His career started at the Scarborough Golf and Country Club in the late 1950' s where he was the Assistant Golf Professional until ultimately moving to Lambton Golf & Country Club as the Head Golf Pro until 1976. After leaving Lambton, Ted retired from Allstate Insurance. Ted, was a wonderful husband, father, Gramps, a dear friend whose laugh, smile and words of encouragement will be sorely missed by each and every one of us. A private memorial service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home ‘Turner Chapel'. Please direct memorial donations to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation.
