WILSON, Eleanor Blanche – Passed away peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, at the age of 85.  Beloved mother of the late Willie Wilson; survived by daughter-in-law Joanie, Peggy Lawler (Tom), Walter Wilson, Joe Wilson, Frank Wilson (Charlene), Alice Meinecke (Stefan). Sister of Elaine Ingleson, Annette Manary, Earl Ingleson, and Mary Ingleson (George).  Predeceased by her brother Ted Ingleson, brother-in-law Roy Manary, daughter-in-law Brenda Wilson and grandson David Thomson. Cherished grandmother of 12 and their spouses; and great grandmother of 9.  Eleanor will be missed by her large extended family, friends and former colleagues especially at Hammond Transportation where she worked for many years.

Eleanor’s community was at the forefront of her interest and energy.  Eleanor volunteered for the annual Rotary Club musicals, the Red Cross, Birthright Muskoka, Catholic Women’s League and most recently Beaver Creek Correctional Facility.  The national Taylor Award for outstanding and dedicated service by a volunteer to Corrections Canada was awarded to Eleanor in 2012.  In addition, she helped to establish the Bracebridge Credit Union.  She was an accomplished seamstress and knitter, making many dresses, blankets and other items as gifts or for charity or for income.

Visitation will take place at Reynolds Funeral Home, in Bracebridge, on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 2-4pm, and 6-8pm, with prayers by Father Roy Villas at 2:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Bracebridge, on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 11am.  Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Bracebridge. Please RSVP at www.reynoldsfuneral.com.

Interment will be followed by a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Bracebridge.  At this time, it is required that you are fully vaccinated to attend the reception.

In Eleanor’s memory, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bracebridge or a charity of your choice and can be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home.
