Jenkins, Elizabeth (Betty)
April 14, 1951- June 18, 2022

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we say goodbye to our Mother, Betty Jenkins. Passing peacefully at Andy’s House in Port Carling with family by her side at the age of 71. Beloved wife of the late Andre Jenkins, loving daughter of the late Douglas and Evelyn Gilbert. Precious Mom to Stacy Bell (Clayton), David and Lyle Jenkins. Proud Gramma to Ashleigh Hendrycks (Josh) and Zac Bell, Great Gramma to Abigail and Isaac. Sister to Sheila Holder (Don), Debbie Barnett (Joe) and Paul Gilbert. Sister-in-law to Wilda Doyle (Randy) and Greg (Ingrid) Jenkins. Aunt to Holly, Crystal, Brent, Brooke, Kurtis, Katie, Sam, Katrina and Candace.

Mom had a great love of all animals wild and domestic, one of her favourite pastimes was watching the birds come to her feeders, and the wildlife that came to drink out of the pond at their house in Purbrook.

Mom’s first job as a teenager was a cook at Santa’s Village, then after high school she worked in the kitchen at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital. Then a move to Alberta in 1974 gave her the privilege to be a stay at home Mom for several years. After moving back from Alberta Mom started working at Rockwell in 1983 and continued her employment there watching it change from Rockwell, Meritor and then to Dura Automotive, until it closed in 2006. Mom loved to take care of people and had a fondness of the elderly and enjoyed her days working at the Muskoka Hills until she retired.

Mom will always be remembered by her youngest son as a classy lady, and will we all remember her wit and good sense of humour. We will miss you Mom and love you to the moon and back. Forever in our hearts.
