“Liz”, having just celebrated her 95th birthday, died peacefully on December 3, 2021 with her daughter Carolyn, and son-in-law George by her side with the remainder of her family having said their good-byes during the preceding days.
Liz arrived in Canada in 1953. Together with Fred, whom she married 2 years later, she established a loving home for her daughter and step-son, became a caring mother-in-law and a doting grandmother, grandmother-in-law and great-grandmother. She was loved and is missed by all of them.
Liz is also survived by a brother and two sisters, and their families in Germany, and one sister and family in Toronto. Liz enjoyed life and particularly her time at Skeleton Lake and in Fort Pierce, Florida. Family activities and visits with friends were largely responsible for making her happy and content. She also enjoyed the last three years at the Sundial Lakeview Retirement Residence in Orillia where she met and made new friends in a pleasant and caring environment.
Liz appreciated the care and support she received at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital and from the staff at the Mariposa House Hospice in Orillia.
A kind and caring person who loved and supported her family and friends, she has joined her husband and left us to celebrate her life and mourn her passing.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial will be held.
For those who wish and in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Liz may be made to Mariposa House Hospice https://www.mariposahousehospice.com/
