Ena Shannon

Ena (Williamina) Shannon, born June 29, 1935, in Hardgate Scotland. The third of six children to William and Christina McKay. Married in Luton England, in 1956 to Hugh Shannon of Port Glasgow, Scotland. She died peacefully, aged eighty-eight years old, at the Muskoka Shores Care Community on February 14, 2024, in Gravenhurst Ontario. Predeceased by her parents, William and Christina McKay, sisters Mary Birch and Jessie Hargreaves, brothers Owen McKay and Robert McKay, all of Luton England, brother Peter McKay of Hespeler Ontario, and husband Hugh Shannon. Survived by her sons, Robert Shannon of Bracebridge Ontario and Hugh Shannon of Punta Gorda Florida. Many thanks to Patricia and her colleagues at Muskoka Shores for their care and support over these past four years. At the request of the family, no service will take place. Her sons will take Ena’s ashes back to Scotland to join her husband and our father. A wee but mighty soul.
