SMITH, Florence May – passed peacefully at her home on Monday, November 25, 2019 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Corbett F. Smith. Cherished mother of Don (Susan) and Corbett (Faye). Dear grandmother of Alexander (Kristi), Sandy (Doug), Aaron, Meghan (MacKenzie), Jason (Joycie) and Daniel. Loving great grandmother of Victor. Predeceased by her parents, George William Pollitt and Annie Pollitt, and her siblings – Nellie, George, Stanley and William.

A chance meeting at Toronto’s Balmy Beach Club in September 1945 would begin the courtship of Corb and Florence. They were wed on June 21,1950, in Toronto. Their honeymoon brought them to Muskoka, foretelling of their eventual move to Bracebridge in 1968.
After her family had grown, Florence returned to work as a legal secretary. In Muskoka, Florence worked for the Township of Medora and Wood, Muskoka Board of Education and the Health Unit as a secretary, and later, in the family business.
Family was paramount for Corb and Florence. Growing attractive flower gardens, home-grown vegetables and bountiful fruit was a joint hobby that they greatly enjoyed.
