Gary Martin

June 12, 1941 — March 16, 2017

It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Gary Martin on March 16, 2017 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia with his family by his side. Gary was in his 76th year. Loving husband of Millie for 54 years. Loving father of Lisa (Stewart), son Todd (Nikki) and incredibly proud "Papa" of Corey, Brennan, Taylor, Jenna and Chase. Dear brother of Helen and the late Arlene. Originally from Fenelon Falls, Gary transferred to Bracebridge with Ontario Hydro in 1963 and worked his career in forestry. After retiring, Gary received a double lung transplant and was grateful to have 13 plus more years with family and friends. Gary will be remembered for his love of family, friends and sports. His sharp wit and sense of humour has left a lasting impression on all that knew him. A Celebration of Gary's life will be held on Sunday, March 26th, 2017 at South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club from 1-4 pm (with remarks at 2:30). Gary was loved by many and will be missed by all. As your expression of sympathy donations can be made to Toronto General Hospital Lung Transplant program. www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/toronto-lung-transplant-civitan-club-inc or South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Messages of condolence can be left at www.reynoldsfuneral.com
