George Parlett

George Alexander Parlett died suddenly surrounded by his family at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on Sunday, October 29th, 2017 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Beverley and the late Shirley Parlett. Dear father of Kim (Kathryn) and Scott (Cheryl) Parlett and Margaret, Louise (Steve), Paul (Jackie) and Ted (Sylvia). Loving grandfather of Brittney (Jeff), Blake (Sarah), Joshua (Sonya), Amanda, D'Arcy (Monica), Katrina, Shawna (Matt), Amber(Jason), Kailey (Chris), Steven, Patrick (Sarah), Matthew, Dana (Patrick) and Katie. Great grandfather of Mason, Peyton, Abby, Everley, Jacob, Ava, Braiden, Hannah, and Salem. Dear brother of Gordon (Alva) Parlett and the late Patricia Wahl. George was extremely dedicated to his community and served the Town of Bracebridge and Regional government for 20 years as Councilor, Mayor and Regional Chairman. Some of his business ventures included, Park (Pearly Gates) Taxi, Parlett Transport, and a General Motors dealership. His involvement in the South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club was instrumental in its early development. One of his greatest joys was to hunt and spend time with his friends and family at the Pine Lake Hunt Club. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of George's life to be held at South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club on Sunday, Nov.5 from 1-4pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ALS Canuck Foundation.
