It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Murray Moore on December 1, 2023. He had suffered a stroke in late August and struggled to regain his speech and language.
Predeceased by his parents Norman and Mabel Moore and sister Donna Forth.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Gloria, son Chad (Colleen), daughter Jennifer (Paul), and his grandchildren Kalyn, Ella, Isaac, and Jordan, his brothers, Gary and Lloyd and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
He loved his family dearly. He enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and hunting. Weekends were usually spent with us all together, whether it was at the hunt camp having bonfires, having a beer on the pool deck, or just sitting around chatting. He kept busy cutting firewood, cutting lawns, or fixing things around the house. He was a skilled chainsaw operator and loved every minute of it. He prided himself on still being able to climb trees at age 72.
Murray liked visiting with friends, helping them with whatever they needed or meeting up at local stores just to chat. He was so proud of his grandkids and told everyone he met about what amazing young people they are. He made everyone feel welcome and his house was always open to family and friends.
Murray was an extremely hard-working man. So much so that after retiring from 29 years with the Roads Department in the Town of Bracebridge, he continued to work at a few places before spending the majority of his retirement with the grounds crew at South Muskoka Golf Club.
Our family was extremely close, and this is a devastating blow to us all. We appreciate all the support from everyone who has come by, called, sent a message, or are thinking of us. In lieu of flowers, a Donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, January 7th from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club in Bracebridge.
