Henry Benattar

January 20, 1928 — August 15, 2015

Benattar, Henry 1928-2015 "I've had a good life. Je ne regrette rien": Henry's words when he learned he was ill. He travelled widely to 53 countries, making friends wherever he went, friendships he kept throughout his life. He shared his life with his wife of 63 years, Ann (Boswell), and together they had five children, Edie, Tony (Sandra), Pat (Heather), Sue (Wes), and Samantha (Dave). In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind his brothers Nino and Jacques, his sister, Sylvie, as well as nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He courageously faced the end of his life with his sense of humour intact, sharing chocolate and stories of his rich and colourful life with those around him. Special thanks to the many friends whose visits and calls brightened Henry's last months. Our deepest gratitude goes to the health care professionals, especially the home care team, who cared for Henry with the utmost kindness and became part of the family. A celebration of Henry's life will take place on Saturday, August 29th from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Meadow Farm, 1015 Ziska Road, Bracebridge. Donations in his name can be made to the North Simcoe Muskoka CCAC (NSM CCAC), 15 Sperling Dr, Suite 100, Barrie, Ontario L4M 6K9 or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Reynolds Funeral Home "Turner Chapel" in Bracebridge. Messages of condolence can be made at www.reynoldsfuneral.com
