Jacob Sawyer-Van Compernolle

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jacob Sawyer. Taken from us way too young, after his six-year battle with leukemia. Another angel got his wings. He was a brave and strong young man.

Jacob was born on October 22, 2001, in Bracebridge, to his mother Karen Sawyer, his father Rob Van Compernolle, and his loving sister Courtney.

He was a very caring, fun-loving boy. He loved his family, hanging with friends and his pets. Skateboarding was his passion, along with Jordan sneakers and his Illadelph bong collection.

Jacob was the cherished boyfriend, of five years, to Lita DeCaire. He leaves behind his mother Karen Sawyer and stepdad James Powell, his father Rob Van Compernolle and stepmom Pamela Jean. Beloved brother of Courtney Sawyer and her boyfriend Hunter Gordon. Loving grandson of Harris and Marjorie Sawyer and Pete and Diane Van Compernolle. He will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Jacob will be remembered by all the memories he shared with everyone. He will be missed so much.

Cremation has taken place. Jacob's Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Bracebridge Legion, 168 Muskoka Rd. S., Bracebridge.
