Smith, James (Jim) Cox (Retired Metro Police Officer Badge #2230) After a short illness in his 72nd year, Jim Smith passed away peacefully with his family at his side. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife Heather of 47 years. Heather and Jim both served on the Metro Toronto Police Force and were the first couple allowed to be married and both remain on the force. They made headlines across the country. Jim will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren; Janette & Stan Sutey and their children Matthew and Ryan; Joanne and her friend Irv; and Scott & Ericka and their children Christian and Brenna. Jim is survived by his brother Tom and wife Linda and his sister Isabel and husband John. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
