James Thwaites

Thwaites, James Elmer "Jim" (Founder of Muskoka Ambulance Service in 1961). Born at Toronto on May 22, 1919, died at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, Bracebridge on Sunday, May 12, 2013 just 10 days short of his 94th, birthday. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Anne (Thomson) Thwaites, daughter Judy (Gary) Moore and son Kim (Candace) Thwaites. Dear grandfather of Jodie (Randy) Evans, Jason (Melanie) Moore, Chris Thwaites, Nick (Winter) Thwaites and Tyler (Tiffany) Thwaites. Great grandfather of Mitchell, Taylor and Parker Evans, Oliver Moore and Jordan and Dax Thwaites. Jim is the last of nine siblings and was predeceased by his brothers and sisters. Albert, Joseph, Donald, Henry, Pat, Norm, Margaret and Ruth. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at the Turner Centre, 120 Taylor Rd., Bracebridge on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 11a.m. until 2 p.m.. Memorial gifts in Jim's name can be made to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation, 75 Anne St., Bracebridge, ON P1L 2B6.
