Dear Jim passed away in Florida, Sunday April 6. 'Toughie' is survived by his adoring wife Cheryl, his brother George and sisters Wallie and Mary. This strong, vibrant and dynamic husband, brother and friend Is now a cherished memory. Jim was born in Kirkland Lake and throughout his life this 'bushman' remained forever connected to nature. His prospecting, winter camping and explorations taught him so much about the wilds of Canada that he so respected. Jim was a skilled stonemason and boat builder and many lucky friends and family will remember Jim with fondness and treasure his creations. His intuitive curiosity and sense of adventure, his many Interests, hobbies and experiences, led to a very full and very rich life. His innate happiness was catching, his ever present smile was infectious. 'Toughie' was an accomplished fine carpenter and the creative genius behind Barrelesque. He was an artist extraordinaire and an inspired author. He was a true 'Renaissance Man' ..... talented and self taught in so many areas. With Cheryl by his side, he shared magical summers at Three Mile Lake, and relaxing winters in the Florida sunshine. Jim had a caring network of family and friends who will hold him in their hearts and remember him forever. There will be a celebration of Jim's life in Bracebridge at the Kerr Park Chalet, 130 Beaumont Dr on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 4 until 8 p.m.. Donations in Jim's memory may be made to charity / cause of your choice.
