In disbelief and with broken hearts, we are sorry to announce the passing of Janet Suzanne McBride (nee Middlebrook).
January 30, 1952 - March 28, 2019
After fighting for her life and defying all odds, determined to "blow this pop stand, I've got more living to do" Janet passed away with her family by her side on Thursday March 28th, 2019 at Sunnybrook Hospital. Loving wife of almost 46 years to Les McBride, Amazing Mother to Kelly (Josh) and to Katie McBride who predeceased them March 13, 2014. Mother in-law to Nathan Fowler. Incredible Grandma to Jaiden May and Jaxson, and "Grandma 2" to Arabella and Macayla. Sister to Jean Brown (Duncan), sister in-law to Bill (Jenny), Marjorie (Bob), Dorothy (Barry), Bruce (Nancy). Predeceased by parents Bruce and May Middlebrook, George and Ella McBride and sister in-law Doreen (Gerry). Loving aunt to so many nieces and nephews.
Janet was a Customer Service Manager at Walmart in Bracebridge and was at her happiest when talking to and helping customers. She was always smiling and ready to help suck you into the Self Check-out's. Walmart will never be the same without her.
But by far, her proudest title was Grandma. She wore that with so much pride, and loved her grandchildren with every part of her being. She loved it so much that she had started "collecting" extra's along the way.
The deepest heartfelt thanks to Dr. Shearing, Don, Heidi and Rosa, Dr. Hotson, Dr. Nairn and Christine Fitchett all of SMMH and to Dr. Victor Yang and team of Sunnybrook, and to ALL of the amazing nurses in both hospitals who
took such great care of her.
