HANCOCK, Joan Marguerite (nee Crawford) Passed away peacefully in Orillia on December 23, 2016. Joan was the beloved wife of the late John Alfred (Jack) Hancock, dear daughter of the late Norman and Marguerite Crawford of Toronto, elder sister to Edna, Ralph (Gail), Bruce (Susanne), Neil (Max), Leeda, Glen (Chris), Eleanor (Jack), Beverly and the late Norman and sister in law to Marg, Norm and Reta. Joan was the proud mother of Greg (Carmen) of Sudbury, Jay (Beth) of Kitchener, Todd of Vancouver, Guy (Melissa) of Barrie and Adam (Erin) of Oro Medonte. Much loved grandmother of Jennifer (Pete), Greg (Sylvie), Joshua, Jordan, Stephanie, Samantha and Kaitlyn, and great grandmother of Kate, Julia and Matthew. Joan was an avid golfer at Bonaire Golf Club, and a member of the Burlington, Windsor and Bayview Curling Clubs. Joan was a ‘people person' and enjoyed a successful career as a Realtor, serving clients in Burlington, Windsor and Thornhill before her retirement. Time with family and friends was important to Joan, as was time at her cottage on Gloucester Pool, and warm winters enjoying the golfing at Timber Pines in Florida. Joan's pies and cookies were a favourite treat of family, friends and neighbours. A Celebration of Joan's life will be held on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Inn at Christie's Mill in Port Severn Ontario. In Joan's memory, donations to Kelly Shire Breast Cancer Foundation or the Barrie Royal Victoria Hospital Cardiac Care Centre would be appreciated. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent in care of Reynolds Funeral Home www.reynoldsfuneral.com, who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
