Joanne Darlene Scott

It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Joanne Darlene Scott (nee Burley) on February 20, 2024, in Bracebridge, Ontario with family by her side. Her infectious laugh, gentle spirit, and soft-spoken wisdom will resonate in the hearts of those who loved her. Known as Bobbie to her closest friends and family, she was born May 1, 1938, in Bruce County, Ontario.

A loving and devoted wife to Wayne Scott, Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Alonzo and Jean Burley, her granddaughter Bethany De Groot, and her brothers-in­ law Bob Russell and Ewen MacGregor. She is survived by sisters Nancy Saunders, Sheila Russell, Judy (Bob) Fletcher, and brother Darryl (Robin) Burley, daughters Lori (Douglas) Ingram and Sandra Scott-De Groot, and son Chris Scott (Kristy Van Hoven). Cherished Gramma to Emma (Dean) Kellar, Jess (Dylan) Monsinger, Abby Ingram (Tristan McNabb), Alethea De Groot (Colin Van Houdt), Kris De Groot, and Great-Gramma to Bellamy, all who will continue to honour her memory and carry on her legacy of love.

Bobbie's family is forever grateful for the care and comfort she received by the dedicated staff during her residency at the Pines.

A celebration of Bobbie's life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Reynolds Funeral Home in Bracebridge, Ontario. Visitation hours will be from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm with a service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in her memory, to the Alzheimer's Society or your favourite charity.
