A warrior to the end, our dear JJ succumbed to his battle on Saturday, February 26, 2022.
For all those who knew John, the word “Quit” was not in his vocabulary. To his family, he was larger than life. His entire life was about creation, in words, in structures, and in family. He built all his own homes and businesses and could design a new roofline in his mind like no one else. He was a very talented man, with a keen eye for building and rock scaping - his greatest passion. His real estate creations can be seen around Muskoka, Toronto, and the GTA.
Although his true love was building, John continued as the third generation to operate the Sterne family business, Sterne Medical Equipment. John was a talented entrepreneur endeavoring in restaurants, a gym, a golf course, racehorses, and more. The list is long. He exemplified the saying of "they broke the mold" after he was born.
JJ could be loud as thunder or soft as silk all in a few seconds, but he was always filled with love for his family and friends. His hilarious sense of humor will be deeply missed and often reminisced by many.
John was a loving husband to Carole Lynn; father to Tye (Brooke), J.D. (Carly), Johnny (Rebecca), Stephanie (Paul), and Sarah (Iain); grandpa to Tenleigh, Georgia, Lakyn, Bella, Keely, and Camden; brother to Bob (Sandy) and Ron (deceased); sister to Sandy (Pat).
A private family interment will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, and in lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation and may be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home.
