LOSHAW, Karen (née Tingey)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Loshaw, on March 29, 2025, in Bracebridge, ON; at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late George Loshaw. Cherished mother of Graham Loshaw (Donna), the late Brent Loshaw (Christine) and Kevin Loshaw. Grandmother of Amber, Megan (Zachary), Jordan (Tessa), Devon (Crystal), Tanner and Parker. Great-grandmother of Avery, Finley and Piper. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and countless beautiful memories.

Predeceased by her parents Mary and Frank Tingey and her brothers Lloyd, Eldon “Ted”, Warren, Sheldon “Shed”, Malcolm “Mac”, Vince, Jim and infant brother Carl and sister Venita.

One of her greatest joys was cooking and baking, where she was unmatched. You couldn’t walk through her door without being fed. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, filled with the smells of freshly baked treats and home-cooked meals that brought family and friends together. Her ice cream sundaes were legendary, and they brought smiles to the faces of all her grandchildren who enjoyed them.

Christmas was an especially magical time - it wasn’t just a holiday; it was an event that she planned and poured her heart into. The warmth of the season filled her home, from the twinkling lights on the tree to the festive meals and countless desserts she lovingly prepared. She made every Christmas feel like a special occasion, and the memories of her holiday traditions will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in them.

An avid gardener, Karen found joy in cultivating beauty in every corner of her garden. Her green thumb was a reflection of her care and attention. Karen spent over 30 years in Food & Nutrition Services with South Muskoka Memorial Hospital where she made many lasting friendships. Her helpful nature took her down the path of natural medicine by helping many people in town with her Essiac.

The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the staff at The Pines and to Dr. Dechert your care and devotion to Karen over the last year and a half has not gone unnoticed.

A Celebration of Life for Karen and George who have now been reunited again, will be arranged at a later date.

Rest in peace, you will forever be in our hearts.
