OLSEN, Kenneth Earnest (Ken) was born in Bardsville on June 14, 1929 to Andrew Olla Olsen and Anna Gwendoline Hillman. Passed away at his home on Skeleton Lake, on Monday, March 10, 2014 at age 84. Beloved husband and soul mate for 61 years of Phyllis Olsen (nee Creasor). Loving father of Andrew, Olla (Mickii), Wendy Kuijier (Jacob) and Katrina Olsen-Heise (Roy). Proud grandfather of Phillip (Sarah), Shane, Alicia (Michael), Gavin (Teresa), Megan & Amy and great-grandfather of Alexandra, Michael, David, Owen and Maxwell. Brother of Shirley (Harold), Edgar, Anna (Bruce), Ernest (Betty) and the late James, Clara (Phillip) & Ross. His extended family Jane Ruttan and her sons Levi and Kurtis will dearly miss Ken. Ken dearly loved all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He thought of others first and put their needs ahead of his own. He was a father figure for Phyllis' four youngest brothers and spent a great deal of time with his four oldest grandchildren. Ken drove a fuel truck for B.A. both in Toronto and Bracebridge. He was a foreman at Corning Glass in Bracebridge and Domtar in Huntsville. He was liked and respected by his co-workers at both factories. Ken was a trustee for the Watt Township School Board. He was involved in the preparation and awarding of the contract for the construction of the Watt Central School. Ken loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed many local deer hunts and had many memorable fishing trips to Northern Ontario with friends and family. Family and friends will sadly miss Ken. The family would like to thank Jane Ruttan for all her help and support. There will be a celebration of life for Ken at 5:00 p.m. on July 5, 2014 at the Raymond Hall.
