Margaret -Guiry

November 11, 1954 — December 23, 2017

Clark-Guiry - Peggy (Margaret) After a gritty and courageous 3+ year battle with ovarian cancer Peggy passed away at home in Bracebridge Ontario on Saturday Dec 23rd, surrounded by family, friends, and her dog Jasper. She will be terribly missed by, her husband of almost 40 yrs Mike, her mother, Bette Clark, her sons David (Katrina) and Daniel (Montina) and her daughter Emily-Anne (Damon) and many friends, among them Marilyn, Stephanie, Shelly, Anne and Mary . She was the best daughter, wife, mother, aunt and friend imaginable and we are all terribly saddened by her passing. She was predeceased by her Dad, William (Bill) Clark. Born on Remembrance Day 1954 to Bill and Bette Clark (nee Martin), Peggy grew up in Toronto and Fort Erie, returning to Toronto to become an RN. Peggy loved her 40 year nursing career, mostly in Maternal-Child Care working in Toronto, Calgary and lastly Bracebridge. Her passion for life was seen in all she did. After returning to her treasured Muskoka in 2008 she continued with ballet, quilting, sewing and yoga. Her craving for adventure took her on cruises to many countries in the past few years and recently to conquering Edgewalk on the top of the CN Tower in Toronto. When the cancer returned and was deemed terminal, she decided to be joyful about her rich, full life, a wonderful example for all us. At Peggy's request cremation has already occurred. A Celebration of Life for this wonderful women will take place at Port Carling United Church on Saturday Feb. 24, 2018 Peggy and her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Princess Margaret Hospital (esp Dr T May), and the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. We are also very grateful to Dr K Jones and the palliative care team of Muskoka for their care and compassion. A special thanks to Jan Neilson, Peggy's wonderful and very caring nurse and friend. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the proposed Port Carling Lions Foundation - with special attention to The Lions Seniors Residence (place this in the memo of your cheque) c/o P.O. Box 431 Port Carling, Ontario P0Z 1J0 or to the Gynecological Oncology Dept. at the Princess Margaret Hospital for Ovarian Cancer research.
