Margaret Johnston

March 24, 1926 — June 2, 2013

Ruth passed away peacefully at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, in Bracebridge, on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at age 87. Survived by her dear friend & companion for 33 years Jim Way. Predeceased by her son Bob Johnston. Loving grandmother of Adele, Tara, Cindy, Dale & Rhonda. Survived by her daughter-in-law Joanne McKinnon (Glenn). Predeceased by husband Sterling W. Johnston. Ruth was a longtime Eastern Star member and a Royal Canadian Legion member. Stationed at Newfoundland, Ruth is a veteran of the Canadian Navy WREN , having served during World War II. Born and raised in Bracebridge, she remained there until moving to Gravenhurst in the early 1980's. Ruth always loved a good joke. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Ruth's live will be held at the Bracebridge Masonic Hall on Friday, June, 7, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Remembrances will be shared at 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society have been requested.
