Marie Vanclieaf passed away peacefully at Rogers Cove retirement residence Huntsville Thursday January 17, 2019 at the age of 93. Beloved wife to the late Harvey Ronald Vanclieaf. Daughter of the late Thomas and Cecilia Armstrong. Predeceased by brothers Tom and Bob, and sister's Shirley McIlroy and Alice Hornby. Marie was the cherished aunt of nine nieces and nephews, eight great nieces and nephews and one great-great Niece, with another on the way. Marie lived in Baysville her entire life and loved her community. She was a member of the Horticultural Society for over thirty years, devoting her time tending to parks and cemeteries. Marie served twelve years as a counselor for Lake of Bays and two terms at the district of Muskoka. She co-founded Brownies and Guides and served 15 years as Brown Owl. She served as president of the women's institute and was a committee member who helped with the development of the new Baysville Community Centre. She was the chair of the Lake of Bays Library Board. Marie was a member of the curling club and the Autumn Leaves Seniors Club. Marie will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. We would like to thank the staff of Rogers cove, closing the gap nursing and the palliative care team of Huntsville for all their care and support. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
