Marilyn Patricia Weber

December 2, 1945 — August 12, 2023

Port Carling

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Weber (Layden) on August 12, 2023, at the age of 77. Cherished wife of Martin for 56 years.  Loved mother of Tisha (Steve) and Nicole (Randall).  Beloved grandmother of Alex, Simon, Lee, and Bailey. Treasured sister of Maureen, Ginny, and Doug.

Marilyn was born in Calgary, Alberta, and moved to Vancouver, BC in her late childhood where she finished school, went to university, and met Martin.  Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Ontario where Marilyn touched countless lives through her career as a teacher in Burlington, Ontario, and then as part of the business and service community in Port Carling after her retirement. She collected friends in all aspects of her life including on her many travels around the world with Martin. You rarely found her without her knitting bag in case she could get a few rows done while watching whatever was going on. Marilyn was an avid reader and loved the natural world.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 28th at 2 pm, with a reception to follow at the Port Carling Community Centre, 3 Bailey Street, Port Carling.

Memorial donations may be made to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation (https://www.healthmuskoka.ca) or Muskoka Interval House (https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/10260?v2=true) in lieu of flowers.
