It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Aunt Marion Blanchard. Born in Bracebridge on October 28, 1930, to Charles and Olive Goddard. She had two sisters Ruth Ball (Archie) and Emily Conway (Ray) whom all predeceased her. When Marion grew up she went to work at Bell Canada and stayed there for 24 years. She met the love of her life Thomas Blanchard and they were married on April 6, 1974. Having no children Marion was loved and supported by her nephews and nieces Eleanor Davis, Norman Ball, Karen Medley, and Robert Reid. Also, two nephews Tom Ball and Steven Reid who are both deceased. She had many Great Nephews, Great Nieces, and cousins as well. Marion and Tom loved to travel across North America with Hammonds Bus Tours. Marion also enjoyed snowmobiling or camping along Lake Bernard in Sundridge. Marion joined her husband as a resident at The Pines on September 29, 2014. Thank you so much for the wonderful care and compassion given towards Marion over the last eight and a half years by the Pines Staff. At Marion's request, there will be no formal Funeral or Celebration of Life service and she will be laid to rest next to Tom in the spring at the Bracebridge Municipal Cemetery.
