Marion Wills

March 21, 1939 — July 4, 2016

MARION LORRAINE "TIM" WILLS (NEE OSLER) Tim passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2016 with her family at her side at her cottage in Muskoka, Ontario after a long and valiant battle with COPD. Predeceased by her mother and father, Lorraine and Britton Osler and her brother Tony. Soul mate and loving wife of 53 years to Duane. Loving mother of Scott (Shawna) Wills, Angie (Jim) Ludwig, Sandy Gerber, and Kathy (Chris) Braznick. Adored "Bamey" to her 8 wonderful grandchildren, Ross & Ty, Amy & Matthew, Lindsay & Jack and Jules & Max. Aunt of Janet (Dave) Taylor and William Osler. Sister-in-law to Carol (John) Franchi of Vancouver. Loving mom to her treasured canine friend Remy. She will be greatly missed by all of them and by her many friends. Tim was born and educated in Toronto and graduated as an RN with her buddies in "the class of '61" from Wellesley Hospital. She practiced nursing at Wellesley Hospital, the Toronto General and in Oakland California. She studied psychotherapy at the Toronto Institute of Human Relations where she had a 3 year internship and 2 year residency which led to 18 years of practice at the Newmarket Family Life Centre and 20 years of private practice in Mississauga in marriage and family counselling. She was also active in volunteering. She taught home poison prevention at schools in Montreal, visited mentally ill patients and was a family planning counsellor in Vancouver, visited Multiple Sclerosis patients at Riverdale in Toronto and was an active fundraiser for MS with the Ladies Auxiliary for Multiple Sclerosis (LAMS). She valued her Lake Rosseau summer cottage roots and carried on her family's long association with Christ Church Windermere where she was an active participant and member of the heritage committee. She was an enthusiastic curling participant at the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club and at bonspiels in Ontario, the US and Scotland and an involved member of the Senior Ladies International Curling Club (SLICC). She enjoyed golfing at Windermere Golf & Country Club and during numerous trips to Western Canada, southern islands, Arizona and Florida. She also enjoyed her various bridge groups in Muskoka and Toronto and was an avid reader throughout her entire life. Most of all she will be remembered by her many friends for her fun loving sense of humour, her love of socializing and a taste of wine, and for her positive attitude, courage, loyalty and generous caring support. The family will receive friends at the Reynolds Funeral Home "Turner Chapel", 1 Mary Street, Bracebridge, Ontario, P1L 2B6 (705-645-2257) from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016. A celebration of life will take place at Christ Church Windermere, Windermere, Ontario on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Many thanks to Dr. Robert Hyland at St. Michael's Hospital Respirology Department in Toronto and the dedicated care givers at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge and Closing the Gap in Huntsville.
