Marjorie "Heather" Langen

With her family by her side, Marjorie Elaine “Heather” Langen (Soper) passed away peacefully, on March 16, 2022, at Andy’s House Hospice in Port Carling, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was two months shy of her 75th birthday.

Heather was predeceased by her husband Richard Allan Langen and parents Edison George Soper and Jean Soper (Mackness). She was the youngest of three girls and sister to Linda Waterson (late Ian), of Toronto and Dianne Cockburn (Garry), of Bracebridge. Fun-loving Auntie H to Lori Leblond (John Daniels), and Michael Cockburn (Debra), and Great Auntie to Aimee, Kaiden, Alex, Bryden and Brynnly.

Heather was born on May 11, 1947, at East York General Hospital. She was an East York girl through and through attending Victoria Park Public School, St. Clair Junior High and East York Collegiate where she met her future husband, Rick. Upon graduation, she started working at The St. Paul Insurance in downtown Toronto, an avid GO Train commuter from Mississauga. She spent many summers at the family cottage on the Otonabee River in Peterborough and after 25 years at the St. Paul she retired and headed North to spend her retirement years with her family.

Heather will always be remembered for her bright smile, kind and gentle heart, love of creatures great and small, quick wit, and subtle gift of repartee “en francais”.

In keeping with Heather’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a “cheerful send-off” for family and friends has been arranged. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at Reynolds Funeral Home, in Bracebridge. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00PM in the Reynolds Chapel with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Heather may be made to Andy’s House Hospice and Carter's Forever Rescue and Sanctuary.
