Mary Fitzmaurice

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Cecilia Fitzmaurice announces her peaceful passing on Sunday January 30th at the age of 97.

Mary was born in Germania on June 30, 1924.   She is predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Patrick Carleton and her siblings Victorine, Alice, Frank, and Helena. Mary is survived by her husband Maurice, her sister Theresa, and her children; Cecilia, Teresa, Mary, Gerard, Mark, Maurice, Jean, Tim, Jacinta and Susan.   She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Mary was an extraordinary woman who led by example. Throughout her life she was an avid seamstress, knitter, gardener, painter and crossword expert. She earned her university degree in Political Science at the age of 51 while also working and still raising her 10 children.   She was a loving and caring mother who will be dearly missed by her family.

A private Funeral Mass will be held. Interment to take place in the spring at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
