MARY ESTHER HALPERIN Mary Esther Halperin (nee Sawdey) passed away gently in her 99th year, with family by her side, on Wednesday, May 26th, 2010, at the Pines Long Term Care Home, in Bracebridge, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Israel Halperin. She will be profoundly missed by her children: Stephen Halperin (Janet), Connie Eaves (Allen), Bill Halperin (Eileen), and Mary Hannah (Walter); her grandchildren: Neil (Jola), Rene (Keith), David, Sara (Jeff), Milo, Christina (Eric), Lise (Tomo), Nicole, and Adam; her great grandchildren: Martin, Peter, Jacob, Lisa, Will, Hannah, Myles, Katherine and Elena; her nephews and nieces, her sister-in-law, Clara Muskat. Predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth Furry and Charlotte Pepper-Kleckner. Mary was born on November 8, 1911, at home, on the family farm, near Rockford, Illinois. After completing her undergraduate studies at Rockford College she went on to obtain a Master's degree in music (violin) at Northwestern University, Chicago, USA. She taught school for a number of years until her marriage on December 30, 1940. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Israel, until his death on March 8th, 2007.
